On our trip to the Mediation Center, we learned about all type of things. Our first trip to the CROWN HEIGHTS MEDIATION, we talked about gun violence and how it has an effect on the streets. When we got there, they were preparing for a SOS March on saving kids from gun violence. SOS is  called Save Our Street for children to stop violence in streets. They were telling us how they solve problems for kids and families by talking about their problems and showing them there is a better way of doing things. On our second trip, we went to the CCM and we talked about how they can help people with their personal problems.  They also help couples work out there relationship and domestic violence issues. They do counseling, rehab, and all typse of other things in that nature.  Our last trip to the Baptist Church, we talk to the minister of the church, Rev. Norman.  We asked him all type of questions about how he became a minister and what made him become a minister. We was real interested on what he had to share with us. He told us they have a lot of special things going on inside the church. He also helps the community people with problems in their lives.  Going on these trips had really taught me how to be successful in life and how to think before I do something thats going to get me in trouble. I thank my teachers for taking me on these trips we went to, so I can learn more about things in this world.

And the day we went to one of there sites they were getting ready for a walk for stopping guns violence and also they were blowing up balloons and was going to let them loose during the walk for the lives that were lost to guns in the street. Last week I went on a trip to the First Baptist Church Of Crown Heights. When we were there we questioned the reverend about some of the things he did at the church, and outside of the church. For example we asked him if he could go back and change anything in his life would he, he agreed yes his childhood because he wish he would of stayed a child long and not rush growing up. Another thing he spoke to us about was staying in school and getting our education because in life today you cant get nowhere without it. Reverend Clarence Norman Senior also told us he’s been at that church for 58 years, since he was a kid in high school he felt that in a church doing what he’s doing now was the place for him. That’s how he felt he could give back and also help the community. We went to the crown heights mediation. They were preparing for a march called SOS, or save our ship. They had balloons for the remembrance of the people that had died because of gun violence.  They talked about how they help many teens to stop doing drugs and using guns. They give out public awareness and have many rallies. The second trip was to CCM, or community counseling mediation. We interviewed two men and a patient there. They spoke about how helpful CCM was. CCM is a program designed to help adults, teens and children with the issues of their lives. They help the community and also have great counseling. The patient we interviewed felt that CCM was a great service to him and he was very happy. They have great programs for people.

There are many unsolved issues in our community. We’ve had few trips about those issues. We went to the CROWN HEIGHTS MEDIATION, CCM, and the church.  We talked about gun violence, family issues and drug abuse. The CROWN HEIGHTS MEDIATION is a small gathering of many people wanting to stop gun violence. When we went there they were preparing for a march called SOS, or save our ship. They were preparing balloons for the remembrance of the ones who are dead.   Then we went to CCM, they have different variety of programs for people with special needs and people who needs help in our community. They help people in many ways, they have psychiatrist to help people with issues, and they provide shelter and many other things that can be helpful to teens, children, adults, and families. At last we went to the church and met with the pastor. He also helps the people in the community with their issues. He spoke about many people coming to him for help. He tries his best to help them with the problems in their lives. It’s very helpful to the people.   All these trips made me realize people do care about the community and tries their best to stop whatever is happening. If we all try to make a difference, we can.
